Everton put Hull City to the sword as they won by five goals to one at Goodison.
Mikel Arteta was on song, and he opened the scoring on 17 minutes when he scored from Yakubu's cross on 17 minutes.
It should have been 2-0 on 27 minutes when Zayatte gave away a penalty for a foul on Yakubu. The striker took the spot kick but his effort was saved by Myhill. Just five minutes later the visitors were level when Tom Cairney scored.
Everton regained the lead on 39 minutes when Steven Pienaar flicked on Victor Anichebe's cross and Arteta scored his second.
The second half was an Everton master class. On 51 minutes Richard Garcia headed Arteta's cross into his own net and it was 3-1.
It took until the 82nd minute for Everton to find a fourth goal. Leighton Baines crossed and Landon Donovan, in probably his last appearance at Goodison this season, scored.
On 86 minutes Donovan turned provider as he set up fellow sub Jack Rodwell for Everton's fifth.

PREMIER LEAGUE RESULT

Tottenham Hotspur (2)2 Everton (0)1

Pavlyuchenko 11 Yakubu 55
Modric 28
Everton suffered defeat at White Hart Lane, which was mostly down to a very poor first half performance.
During the first half Everton's play was mostly disjointed, and awful defending allowed Pavlyuchenko and Modric to give Spurs a two goal advantage.
Everton were much better in the second half and ten minutes in they got a goal back when an error from keeper Gomes allowed Yakubu to poke the ball into the net.
Jack Rodwell forced Gomes into a safe not long afterwards from Yakubu's cross, and substitute Landon Donovan should really have scored the equaliser on 76 minutes when he received Rodwell's cross at close range but somehow found the side netting.
Everton could not find another goal even after six minutes of added time and so the home side finished as winners with a score of 2-1.

EUROPA LEAGUE, ROUND OF 32 SECOND LEG RESULT

Sporting Lisbon (0)3 Everton (0)0

Veloso 64
Mendes 77
Fernandez 90
Sporting win 4-2 on aggregate.
Everton crashed out of the Europa League 4-2 on aggregate after losing 3-0 on the night in Lisbon.
Just days after a superb win based upon taking the game to the other team, Everton instead set out to not concede, and as has been shown before, this tactic backfired.
Having spent most of the first hout of the game on the backfoot and offering virtually nothing at the other end of the pitch, they conceded to Miguel Veloso on 64 minutes. The Toffees did not respond to this despite needing a goal to avoid an away goals defeat and on 77 minutes things got worse when Pedro Mendes' shot deflected in.
Everton did go on the offensive after this but their play was desperate and disjointed. In injury time Phil Neville's awful shot just found a Sporting player, and the home side broke. With Everton having all men forward except for Tim Howard, Matias Fernandez was left with an easy tap in to complete Everton's humiliation.

Everton: Howard; Neville, Yobo, Senderos (Jagielka 52), Baines; Donovan (Yakubu 73), Osman, Arteta, Pienaar, Bilyaletdinov (Rodwell 61); Saha
Subs not used: Nash, Gosling, Anichebe, Coleman
Booked: Pienaar

Everton produced a magnificent performance to outplay Man United and beat them 3-1, despite going behind early on.
It was the visitors who took the lead on 16 minutes through Dimitar Berbatov but Everton responded superbly and they were level just three minutes later. Diniyar Bilyaletdinov scoring with a brilliant curling effort from range.
Everton looked the better side in the second half and on 76 minutes they got their reward when Dan Gosling scored from Steven Pienaar's cross. In the final minute the game was wrapped up when Jack Rodwell scored a wonderful solo goal to make it 3-1.

EUROPA LEAGUE, ROUND OF 32 FIRST LEG RESULT

Everton (1)2 Sporting Lisbon (0)1

Pienaar 35 Veloso (pen)87
Distin 49
28,131
Everton won the first leg of their Europa League last 32 tie against Sporting, but the second leg will be more difficult than it needed to be after the visitors grabbed a late away goal thanks to a needlessly given away penalty.
Everton made a cautious start to the game and the first half seemed likely to end with no-one scoring but on 35 minutes the Toffees did make a breakthrough. Phil Neville passed to Tim Cahill and instead of shooting, Cahill slipped a backpass to Steven Pienaar who thumped the ball into the net.
Just after the break Everton doubled their lead. Landon Donovan's corner evaded keeper Rui Patricio and the ball hit Sylvain Distin's knee and found the net.
Everton were in a strong position but Sporting continued to apply pressure, and on 87 minutes Distin lost the ball from Jack Rodwell's backpass and the ball fell to Liedson. Distin brought the striker down and was sent off for the foul. Miguel Veloso converted from the penalty spot to leave the final score at 2-1.

Everton: Howard; Neville, Yobo, Distin, Baines; Donovan, Osman, Cahill (Yakubu 62), Arteta (Rodwell 78), Pienaar; Saha (Bilyaletdinov 83)

PREMIER LEAGUE RESULT

Everton (1)2 Chelsea (1)1

Saha 33,75	Malouda 17
36,411
Two goals from Louis Saha were enough to beat league leaders Chelsea at Goodison.
Everton were without the injured Marouane Fellaini and Steven Pienaar, so Diniyar Bilyaletdinov came in, and there was a welcome first start of the season for Mikel Arteta.
As the game began, Everton struggled, and Chelsea dominated. The visitors opened the scoring on 17 minutes when Malouda received a pass from Drogba, and eluded Phil Neville to slot the ball past Tim Howard. After the goal Everton's play continued to be poor and disjointed, and many Everton supporters must have been wondering just how many goals the Toffees would concede, but they weathered the storm and on 33 minutes won a corner which Landon Donovan took. The American's delivery was superb and found Saha, who evaded John Terry to head in.
Goodison was rocking now as Everton continued to take the game to Chelsea. On 43 minutes Carvalho felled Saha in the area and referee Alan Wiley pointed to the spot. Saha's penalty kick was awful though and easily saved by Cech. At half time the score was 1-1.
Everton began the second half as the ended the first, continuing to attack. As the second half continued, Chelsea were getting more possession again, but on 75 minutes Goodison erupted as Saha scored his second. Sylvain Distin sent a hopeful long ball forward, which Terry should really have cleared, however the former England skipper missed the ball and Saha got ahead of him and unleashed an unstoppable half-volley to make it 2-1.
Wiley saw fit to add five minutes of stoppage time at the end but Everton hung on to record a famous victory, their first over Chelsea since 2000, which made David Moyes' 300th Premier League game all the more special.

Everton: Howard; Neville, Heitinga, Distin, Baines; Donovan, Osman, Cahill, Arteta (Rodwell 74),Bilyaletdinov (Gosling 86); Saha (Senderos 90)
Subs not used: Nash, Vaughan, Yakubu, Coleman
